Who: School-wide event put on by the PTA.
What: This is an indoor carnival with a Halloween theme. Kids can play carnival games to win prizes, grab a slice of pizza and ice cream and walk through a haunted hallway (not-too-scary experiences are available for little ones!). Parents can bid on auction items like gift certificates, gift baskets and lunches with the teacher for their students.
When: October – usually just before Halloween.
Where: Throughout the school
Why: This is a fun event to let kids celebrate Halloween. With the auction and reasonably-priced tickets, we’re able to raise money.
How: This event takes a lot of helping hands to setup, sell tickets, work the games, hand out food and clean up.
$ – Bring cash to buy tickets. Tickets are then used for food, games and the Haunted Hallway.
Tips: If you have younger children, you’ll be busy following them through the halls. If you have older children, it’s easy to load them up with tickets and let them go where they’d like while you volunteer to run a game or sell tickets. This event gets packed!
Most years, we’re able to offer pre-paid tickets and wristbands. This is a great way to avoid the long line when the event starts. Even if you’re not sure what you’ll be doing at the event, consider pre-paying for a few tickets to get your kids started while you wait in line.
