Morning Drop-Off

Please note the following expectations for morning drop-offs:

  • Pull forward as far as possible before having your child exit the car.
  • Once you reach the sidewalk/cement, have your child exit.  They can walk the rest of the way.  Do not wait until you’ve reached the front of the line.
  • Your child should be ready to exit quickly; please do not get out of the car to help your child.  This delays our drop-off line.
  • After 8:57, you must escort your child into the building and get a Late Pass.
  • Use CAUTION to ensure our children’s safety during morning drop-off time.

CLASSROOM BASKET DONATIONS

We hope you received the flyer that came home last week explaining our classroom baskets for Holiday Craft Night.  It is also attached below. Here it is if you need it: HOLIDAY CRAFT NIGHT baskets – Classroom Assignments

If everyone could donate just one item towards your child’s classroom theme, imagine the amazing baskets we can create.  You may also donate to any other classroom’s basket if you wish.  All donations should be given to the classroom teacher or dropped off in the box in the school lobby.

We are also looking for donations of large baskets and coffee/baby formula cans with plastic lids.

Raffle tickets to win the baskets will be sold for $1.00 each or in sheets of 20 during Holiday Craft Night.  These will make great holiday gifts so we hope to see you there for your chance to take a basket home that night!! (Raffle drawing will be held at 7:45 p.m.) Please contact Jillian Moutafis (JILLYMSU@comcast.net or 248-568-2396) if you have any questions or can help with assembling the baskets.

Whats Happening on Facebook

One of our great PTA fundraisers throughout the year is Bagel Days! Below is a schedule of the days bagels will be distributed along with some frequently asked questions.

September 27
October 18
November 29
December 6
January 24
February 28
March 28
April 18
May 30
June 6

1. What if my child isn't there for bagel day? Their bagel will be saved and given to them the next time they are there. Unfortunately we don't have a way to keep it fresh for too long and we apologize in advance about that.

2. Do these come with cream cheese? No.

3. Are these nut free? As we get these bagels from a third party (Detroit Bagel), we cannot guarantee they don't come in contact with nuts.

4. What time will my child receive their bagel? Bagels are delivered and distributed to classrooms in the morning but we are unable to guarantee a specific time each classroom will receive their bagels or what time teachers will pass them out. We suggest having bagels be an extra snack rather than counting on them being the only snack of the day.

You have until 9/14 to sign up for this year's Bagel Days. All bagel days must be prepaid for the year. Visit our website at www.commerceelementarypta.com/pta-membership to sign up. If you have additional questions, let us know!
